BRONSKI BEAT’S “WHY?” REIMAGINED

London Records has proudly released a brand new remix of the iconic Bronski Beat track "Why?," which has been creatively reimagined by the talented Superchumbo and features the legendary Neil Tennant, known for his work with the Pet Shop Boys. This exciting release marks the third remix from the highly anticipated 40th anniversary deluxe reissue of Bronski Beat’s seminal debut album, The Age Of Consent.

Following closely are remixes of the classic queer anthem "Smalltown Boy," produced by the innovative ABSOLUTE and Planningtorock. Originally, "Why?" achieved worldwide Top 10 status in September 1984, solidifying Bronski Beat's influential role as pioneers within the realm of meaningful dance music. The track opens with the haunting sound of shattering glass, setting a powerful atmosphere, complemented by a poignant and emotional vocal performance by Jimmy Somerville. The lyrics of this track boldly confront anti-gay prejudice, establishing it as a significant and powerful statement within the pop landscape of its time.
