Kings of Leon Release 9th Studio Album "Can We Please Have Fun"

Kings of Leon have unveiled their ninth studio album, Can We Please Have Fun, via Capitol Records. As the title suggests, the album captures the band experimenting, embracing new ideas, and having fun.

Alongside the album, the band has launched a music video for the new track “Nowhere to Run.” Directed by the band and long-time collaborator Casey McGrath, the video showcases Kings of Leon dancing and running wild. They managed all creative aspects of the album, including the artwork and unconventional visuals for each song. The visuals were shot over two days in Nashville by the band and a small team.

The lead single, “Mustang,” continues to climb the radio charts, currently sitting in the Top 10 at Alternative radio and the Top 5 at Triple A radio. This marks the ninth Top 10 single for the band at Alternative radio.

Reflecting on the album, Nathan shares, “It’s the type of music we’ve always wanted to make. This record felt special right from the beginning. From the first meeting with Kid Harpoon, we couldn’t have been more in sync.” Caleb adds, “It was the most enjoyable record I’ve ever been a part of. We allowed ourselves to be musically vulnerable.” Nathan continues, “I love it when a rock band isn’t afraid to admit that every song doesn’t have to be on 11.”

Recorded at Dark Horse Studio in Nashville and produced by Kid Harpoon (known for work with Harry Styles and Florence + the Machine), the album showcases a refreshed Kings of Leon. It revisits their gritty origins while exploring new dimensions. The band is unified in vision and purpose, free from external expectations.

Next, Kings of Leon are set to embark on a global tour. The tour kicks off overseas in Leeds, UK on June 20th at First Direct Arena and continues throughout the UK and Europe. They will begin the North American leg on August 14th at Austin’s Moody Center. Tickets are available at https://kingsofleon.com/.
